The American Red Cross of Colorado and Wyoming has been hard at work supporting the people who were evacuated due to the wildfires. They have also been supporting the firefighters, and staffing emergency operations centers in 9 counties.
The support provided by the Red Cross could not be done without the support provided by donors. Alpine Bank recognizes the importance of the Red Cross disaster response and the benefit it provides to Colorado.
In appreciation for the efforts of the Red Cross, Alpine Bank has pledged a matching gift up to $250, 000. A microsite has been set up to make a donation to Red Cross Disaster Relief. The site is located at https://www.redcross.org/donate/cm/alpinebank-pub and total donations made at this site will be matched by the Alpine Bank matching gift.
“Alpine Bank has always tried to be responsive to the needs of our communities. Today, as I reflect over the years, I realize July 6 marks the day we pay annual tribute to the Storm King 14, those brave men and women firefighters who perished in a fire near Glenwood Springs in 1994,” said Alpine Bank founder and Chairman Bob Young. “During that brutal fire season, Alpine Bank partnered with the Red Cross to establish a matching fund to aid those who lost property or homes, as well as those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. While we hope and pray no lives are lost in this current Colorado fire season, we are again proud to match your donations to the Red Cross. Alpine Bank has set aside a grand total of a quarter of a million dollars to help those affected by fires this summer.”
“We are truly grateful for the financial support this matching gift opportunity brings to the Red Cross,” said Gino Greco, CEO for the Red Cross of Colorado and Wyoming. “We want to thank Alpine Bank for stepping up to help the Red Cross help those in need.”
