The American Red Cross of Colorado is assisting residents from the 600 block of S. Dayton Street, in Denver, Colorado, after a building located in the Pine Creek Apartment complex caught fire on Saturday, August 8, 2020, around 7:00 pm. 46 homes were impacted by the fire, displacing dozens of people. Those units remain uninhabitable today.
Red Cross volunteers have been hard at work since, providing shelter, food, medical assistance and mental health support as well as taking care of immediate needs, like clothing, infant essentials and more for 46 adults and children. The Red Cross would also like to thank the Salvation Army for its support for cooking the meals for the residents and volunteers. Partnerships like this are critical when it comes to supporting communities during disaster.
Services and support from the Red Cross and its volunteers will continue as it is needed in order to help the individuals impacted by this tragic event.
