Denver, Thursday, June 27, 2019– The American Red Cross of Colorado & Wyoming is sending disaster responders to help people in Harlingen, Texas after persistent heavy rain produces flooding in far south Texas. The Red Cross has opened 6 shelters in the area. Red Cross trained disaster responders have mobilized to provide relief and comfort to impacted families.
Sally Broomfield – Disaster Program Manager for the Red Cross of Southeastern Colorado has deployed to support the planning and operations team in Harlingen, TX.
Gehrig Haberstock – Disaster Program Manager for the Red Cross of Wyoming has deployed to support operations management that is based in Harlingen, TX.
Tony Bender – a volunteer with the Red Cross of Southeastern Colorado has deployed to support the disaster assessment effort in Harlingen, TX.
Pam Stultz – a volunteer with the Red Cross of Northern Colorado has been deployed to support the sheltering effort in Harlingen, TX.
Clark Buck – a volunteer with the Red Cross of the Mile High Area has been deployed to help manage the delivery of emergency supplies. He will be based in Harlingen, TX.
Maureen Kelley – a volunteer with the Red Cross of the Mile High Area will support the disaster assessment effort in Harlingen, TX.
Tom Bethke – a volunteer with the Red Cross of the Mile High Area will support the disaster assessment effort in Harlingen, TX.
In Addition, two volunteers from the Red Cross of Southeastern Colorado will continue to support people of Oklahoma. Tina Harrison and Kathy Sharkey will serve from their homes in Colorado Springs virtually as case workers to support those still in need after the Oklahoma tornadoes.
