Evac Centers Open

The American Red Cross of Colorado and Wyoming continues to provide services for those who have been affected by the devastating wildfires in Colorado and Wyoming. To date, 231 disaster workers have deployed both on the ground and virtually to provide support for those impacted by the fires.

Over the weekend, cold and snowy conditions slowed the fire, but logs and underbrush still continue to smolder. The Red Cross has been providing services and care to the evacuees for nearly nine weeks. Volunteer disaster workers will continue to stay and support those communities, even after the fire is contained, providing recovery assistance to those affected by the fires.

  • The Red Cross is currently sheltering around 2,631 people in 1,631 rooms, 34 hotels and 2 KOA sites.
  • In total, the Red Cross has provided 27,829 overnight stays for Colorado wildfire refugees.
  • Alongside our community partners, we have served 25,391 meals.
  • We have made 2,063 disaster health contacts, 815 disaster mental health contacts and 35 disability integration contacts.
