Happy New Year! The holiday season may be over, but we are taking the humanitarian spirit with us into the new decade. They say, “never skip leg day,” but what about the muscle that is your heart? There is no better way to kick off the year than to Exercise Your Heart. Flex your emotional fitness. Break a sweat by uplifting your community. Become a volunteer at American Red Cross as part of your resolution.

Nearly 372,000 volunteers worked with the American Red Cross last year. To put that in perspective, that is over 90 percent of our workforce. Our work would not be possible without our volunteers. We are beyond grateful for their time and energy.

There are a myriad ways to get involved from prevention training to disaster response. Trained volunteers are fit volunteers. You might find that volunteering offers just as much fulfillment as sharing that gym mirror selfie — if not more. Start the process today.
