Fire Department awarded for work during 2020 wildland fire season
In August 2020, wildland fire erupted across northern Colorado, displacing thousands of people. Poudre Fire Authority worked tirelessly for weeks ensuring its community was protected and a fire support plan was in place. Many firefighters left their own homes that were also in danger, in order to protect other residences directly in the fire’s path.
For its heroic and lifesaving acts, Poudre Fire Authority will receive an American Red Cross Hero of the Year award at the Rocky Mountain Heroes Award ceremony, on March 20, 2021.
