The American Red Cross of Colorado and Wyoming has named Christie Caster as executive director for the Western Colorado chapter.

In her new role, Caster will manage the board of directors and its committees, collaborate with key community partners, elected officials and serve as the face of the Red Cross of Western Colorado.

“The Red Cross has a long history of providing humanitarian services in times of need and ensuring our communities are ready to respond to disasters and I couldn’t be more proud and excited to be a part of this amazing organization,” said Christie. “I am looking forward to utilizing my past experience to ensure we can provide and enhance Red Cross services throughout  Western and Southwestern Colorado.”

Prior to joining the Red Cross, Christie has worked in non-profits for about 20 years and has worked with a variety of populations and programs. Most recently she was Program Manager for nearly ten years with Hilltop Community Resources, where she oversaw Western Colorado 211, Aging and Disability Resources and Health Access, among others. She has experience with community engagement, building and growing programs and brings her connections and knowledge of the Western Slope.

Christie has lived in Western Colorado most of her life, except for about nine years when she lived in the Northwest.

Christie replaces Eric Myers who is now the Regional Volunteer Services Officer for the Colorado and Wyoming region.
