Newer Police Officer Saves Five Lives in His First Year to Win Award
In December of 2019, Officer Landon Guzzo achieved solo status with the Parker Police Department. During his first year of solo status, Officer Guzzo was credited with saving five lives on five different calls for service.
In one of those cases, Officer Guzzo arrived on scene after a man had been electrocuted while he was working on a project inside his garage. Officer Guzzo quickly began performing emergency CPR techniques until another officer arrived on scene with an AED. The man, a father of two young children, was alert and conscious when paramedics arrived and transferred him to a hospital.
For his heroic and lifesaving acts, Officer Landon Guzzo, received an American Red Cross Hero of the Year award at the Rocky Mountain Heroes Celebration presented by Cobank , on March 20, 2021.
