Providing a Safe Place

by Andrea Carlson, American Red Cross of Colorado and Wyoming

Thank you to our incredible volunteers and staff members who helped make this special delivery happen. We were able to give 35 cots to the Greeley Personal Isolation Facility, to help care for people who need it most.

THANK YOU!

Due to increased numbers of COVID cases in northern Colorado, this 30-room facility will provide a safe place for displaced COVID-19 patients, so they can quarantine or isolate until they are feeling better.

These residents are unable to return home due to various reasons such as vulnerable family members, congregate housing situations, etc. The facility is a joint venture between Weld County and the City of Greeley. Currently, in Greeley, there are four outbreak locations, including the JBS Beef Plant and three long-term healthcare/skilled-nursing facilities.

Zingy from City of Greeley facilities picked up 35 Red Cross cots this morning.

This new alternative facility will open-up much-needed hospital bed space in Greeley hospitals and provide a safe place for COVID positive persons to self-maintain as they get through their illness.

Thank you to our fantastic staff and volunteers at our NOCO chapter for supporting and helping with supplies!
