Red Cross Opens Diverse Business Center

The American Red Cross of Colorado is thrilled to announce the opening of the American Red Cross Diverse Business Center. The new center will provide space for collaboration with the Asian Chamber of Commerce, Colorado LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce, Colorado Black Chamber of Commerce, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Denver and the Rocky Mountain Indian Chamber of Commerce. The partnership between the Red Cross of Colorado and the various chambers allows these groups to work together seamlessly, providing services and support to various communities around the Denver Metro area.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at the Diverse Business Center located in the lower level of the American Red Cross building at 444 Sherman St, in Denver. The event was well attended with representatives from all of the businesses now housed in the Diverse Business Center. The highlight of the evening came when members of the diverse business community joined the Red Cross of Colorado CEO, Gino Greco for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The new center forges a partnership between the Red Cross and the Chambers by giving them office space in the Red Cross of Colorado headquarters, virtually rent-free. Small costs associated with the office space have been generously funded by Denver Public Schools.

“We recognize the power of harnessing collective similarities and differences that help equip our organization and its people to deliver on the Red Cross mission of service in a manner that is both sensitive and culturally competent,” says Gino Greco, CEO for the American Red Cross of Colorado and Wyoming.  “By providing the chamber partners with virtually rent-free space, we hope that frees up valuable resources in their organization to do even more of the great work they do in the communities they serve.”

By cultivating a collaborative, inclusive and respectful work environment that empowers all contributors; and by leveraging diverse partnerships – the new Diverse Business Center will provide a centrally located office where diverse perspectives and experiences are welcomed and respected.

“The Diverse Business Center creates a wonderful opportunity for the minority chambers to share ideas and to work more closely than ever before,” says Clarence Low, CEO/President of the Asian Chamber of Commerce. “I appreciate the forethought and support of the American Red Cross in bringing the concept to fruition.”

“Even though we travel different walkways, all our walkways should lead to the following values, respect, honesty, humility, and reciprocity.  We are grateful to the American Red Cross and Denver Public Schools as their walkways lead to these values,” says Don Kelin, Chairman of Rocky Mountain Indian Chamber of Commerce.

“The Colorado Black Chamber of Commerce is committed to helping our community’s small businesses build partnerships,” according to Executive Director, Lee Gash-Maxey. “Strong partnerships are the foundation of growing any successful company or organization. And being a part of the Diverse Business Center strengthens our Minority Women’s Chamber Coalition partnership. It’s a great business move for the Black Chamber. Thank you, American Red Cross and Denver Public Schools, for including the Colorado Black Chamber in the Center.”
