Red Cross Opens Evacuation Shelter for Laramie Wildfire

Tuesday, March 6, 2018, 8:a.m.: Laramie Wildfire Update: Red Cross closed the evacuation center located at Albany County Fairgrounds. The wildfire spread to a mobile home park, Wade’s Mobile Manor, Monday afternoon and all 65 homes were evacuated. Ten homes were destroyed, although two homes were vacant.

Red Cross opened an evacuation center and provided immediate assistance to five of the families. A total of 6 adults and 5 children were given immediate assistance. The evacuation center closed at 6:15 p.m. Monday evening. Anyone affected by the Laramie Wildfire can contact the Wyoming Red Cross at 1-800-222-8272. This is a 24-hour phone number for emergency assistance from the Red Cross.

Monday, March 5, 2018, 3:17 p.m.: Laramie Wildfire Update: As firefighters gain control on the fire we have learned that 9 homes have been destroyed. We are trying to get in contact with the owners of the mobile homes in Wade’s Mobile Manor in Laramie that have lost their homes due to the fire. If you are one of these home owners or know one of them, have them go to the Albany County Fairgrounds to meet with Red Cross caseworkers as soon as possible. Laramie, WY, Monday, March 5, 2018 – The American Red Cross of Wyoming has opened an evacuation center for people affected by the wildfire near Laramie, WY. The fire has forced evacuation of the Wade’s Mobile Manor. The evacuation shelter is located at:

The shelter will provide a safe and warm location for those evacuated. Red Cross disaster responders will be on hand to provide comfort and care for as long as they are needed.
