Red Cross response to wildfire burning near Cheyenne Mountain State Park in Colorado Springs

Update 6:30 4/7/19 – All evacuations related to #PawneeFire have just been lifted. The #PawneeFire has burned 2.8 acres, not 5-7 as reported by some media outlets.

Update: 5:45PM 4/7/19 – The Hwy 115 fire is now being called the “Pawnee Fire”#PawneeFire. Pre-evacuation has been lifted, however parts of Pine Oaks Road and Rock Creek Mesa Road are still under evacuation. Thanks to El Paso County for keeping us posted! The American Red Cross has a team actively preparing to provide shelter for those evacuated as a result of the wildfire burning near Cheyenne Mountain State Park in Colorado Springs, near Rock Creek Canyon Rd and Pawnee Rd (about mile marker 40-42 on Highway 115)

Residents of Rock Creek Mesa are under mandatory evacuation order. Residents of the mobile home park at 8160 Piute Road are under a pre-evacuation order, according to the sheriff’s office.
