Creek Fire doubled in size yesterday and forced the evacuation of Woods Landing, New Jelm, and Jelm.  A pre-evacuation notice is in effect for the community of Foxborough.

The Red Cross of Wyoming has been in close contact with local officials offering support as needed. A shelter was opened Sunday night but there were no occupants. Disaster responders helped one family (2 elderly adults) today with support for temporary lodging.

“We have been meeting with officials every day to make sure that needs are being met,” said James Ledwidth, Disaster Program Manager in Wyoming. “Fortunately no structures have been lost but if we need to open a shelter we can do that pretty quickly.”

Our shelter is open at Frisco Elementary. Latest on pets from Summit County:PET UPDATE: If you need a safe place to shelter your pets, please take them to the Summit County Animal Shelter (58 Nancy’s Place in Frisco) – there is plenty of room! They are taking pets between 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Does your dad have any special needs that we should consider. The best idea is to go to the Frisco Elementary School shelter and talk with the Red Cross shelter manager to see what we can accommodate.
