The mission of the American Red Cross is to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies every day but especially during Red Cross Month, we would like to thank each and every one who supports our organization and allows us to help people in need.
We could not do the work we do without our donors. When an emergency occurs, our generous individual and corporate financial donors enable us to provide shelter, food and comfort.
In addition, your donation helps empower ordinary citizens with extraordinary skills like first aid and CPR and deliver 24/7 support to military members, veterans and their families. Alongside our global partners, your contribution also enables us to foster healthier and safer communities worldwide, whether it’s through measles vaccinations or disaster risk-reduction programs.
Thank you for your profound commitment to the American Red Cross and those we serve. Last year, your support allowed the American Red Cross of Colorado and Wyoming to:
- Respond to more than 490 disasters in our region – 441 of which were home fires.
- Provided nearly 3,160 services to members of the military, veterans and families through our Hero Care Network.
- Trained more than 106,000 people in first aid, water safety and other lifesaving skills.
- Made more than 2,701 Colorado and Wyoming homes safer through American Red Cross educational home visits and the creation of preparedness plans.
- Installed 5,213 free smoke alarms through our Home Fire Campaign. Opened 35 Restoring Family links cases to help reconnect refugees in our region reconnect to their families around the world.
