Truly Grateful

By Catie Ballenger, American Red Cross

During National Volunteer Week — April 19th-25th — we honor our amazing and dedicated volunteers in Colorado and Wyoming who prevent and ease people’s suffering every day. Last year, 2,759 Colorado and Wyoming Red Cross volunteers provided critical aid every day.

Our volunteers are among those who represent more than 90 percent of the Red Cross workforce. We are truly grateful for their dedication — without them, our mission wouldn’t be possible. Just in the past year volunteers responded to 441 house fires in our community after lives were upended by home fires — the nation’s most frequent disaster.

Volunteers are 90% of our workforce.

We invite the public to join us and become a Red Cross volunteer.Visit the Red Cross of Colorado Website or the Red Cross of Wyoming Website to learn more about the many ways people can help and how to submit a volunteer application. We are looking for virtual volunteers to serve during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We want to extend our sincerest thanks to the 2,759 local Red Cross volunteers who help us fulfill our mission in Colorado and Wyoming. The support of our volunteers allows us to help people when they need it most.
