Generosity of the Harmes C. Fishback Foundation

Recently, the American Red Cross of Colorado received a new fleet vehicle acquired thanks to the generosity of a local donor, the Harmes C. Fishback Foundation. The Foundation, managed by the Stapleton family, funded the new Equinox with their generous gift of $25,000.

In addition to their recent generosity, the Harmes C. Fishback Foundation has supported our Home Fire campaign, Coronavirus relief and our annual fundraising soiree.

The new vehicle, which will primarily serve communities in the Mile High region of the Red Cross, will be available to transport Red Cross volunteers and deliver supplies and services to those in need and impacted by disasters.

Without generous donations from community partners like the Harmes C. Fishback Foundation, this vehicle would not be available to serve our neighbors in times of emergency. We are immensely grateful for this support. It allows Red Cross volunteers to respond efficiently and effectively during disasters such as the 2020 wildfires in Colorado and Wyoming.

The past year has been tough coping with the Coronavirus pandemic — plus all of last year’s record-breaking disasters. With families overwhelmed, incredible organizations like the Harmes C. Fishback Foundation have stepped up to provide comfort and care through the Red Cross.

As the pandemic wears on, research shows that more people want to help those in need. During Red Cross month, we celebrate this humanitarian spirit and those like the Stapleton family who have generously supported their communities.

We take this opportunity to ask others to help the Red Cross provide support for our neighbors. Donate to support our disaster relief efforts at redcross.org/GivingDay. A gift of any size makes a difference to provide shelter, food, relief ítems, emotional support and other assistance. Your donation will be part of our annual Giving Day on March 24 to aid families in need across the country.
